Punitive Retroactive Law is as Unamerican as Fascism

Congress having been exposed in deleting portions of the AIG deal, that would have addressed bonuses, is now scrambling to "fix" the situation with an retroactive law, tailored to specifically target an unpopular group, with retroactive punitive tax.  It seems the deleted section of the AIG Deal caused more outrage and they are now forced to deal with it. However, the means of "dealing" with the bonus situation seems to be worse than the bonuses.

What happened was congress passed a law that effected taxes on bonuses in the past, specifically tailored to target an unpopular group, in this case AIG execs, in order to get back bonus money which they were aware of previous, and had intentionally left out of the AIG deal.

So, to depersonalize it, Congress targeted a group, making a law, that targeted an event in the past, and called that law, in order to "fix", something they intentionally removed at the beginning.

Think about that. Congress made a law today(for example), and declared that it was law before the law was even created, thus making it possible to violate a law before it even existed, and that law was tailored to only apply to a specific group of individuals. Patently absurd, and without doubt not in the spirit of the principles this country was founded on, which is equal treatment under the law, and the principle of a law must exists BEFORE it can be broken.

Chris Dodd caught in lie about it, responsible for the AIG Bonuses not being addressed.
